Greetings LARAEC Conference Attendees,

School and College District leadership are implementing necessary measures to help prevent the spread of coronavirus as recommended by Public health officials. One of these measures is the cancellation or postponement of all large gatherings. Please know, ensuring the safety and well being of conference attendees is of utmost importance.

Unfortunately, this means that the LARAEC Conference has been cancelled

We appreciate all of the work that went into producing a five-district collaborative conference. Thank you to all the presenters for preparing amazing and innovative presentations. Thank you to our Conference Committee members and our Innovation Award Committee for their work in making this conference extraordinary.

At the heart of the LARAEC Conference is the celebration of inspiration and innovation from  teachers, staff, partners, and exhibitors. With that in mind, we will keep you posted as we make plans for how to best share the awards and workshops that make up The LARAECexperience: 2020 Vision for the Future.

Thank you for your partnership,

Michele and Justin

Evaluating Agency Persistence and Performance to Improve Programs

Abstract: Explore and review several concrete examples to “dive deeper” into agency data from the ground level, with emphasis on the specific steps needed to answer the underlying questions about agency persistence and performance.

This session addresses some overriding questions about CAEP agency performance and persistence:

Part I will define these basic questions, provide some simple metrics within AEP reports to determine local performance proficiency on these basic questions, and offer many “qualitative” tips and suggestions for how agencies might address these data issues—with the specific suggestions depending on the output of each program’s local data results.

Part IIwill review several concrete “quantitative” examples that focus on the consortium level, using features such as Excel to “dive deeper” into local consortium level data results from the ground level, and will look at questions such as:
  • How many adult education program students that enroll – actually make it into an instructional program?
  • Of those students in an instructional program, how many are showing any progress as defined by AEBG/AEP metrics?
  •  Of students that attempt pre/post-testing, how many stay in program long enough to generate a pre/post-test pair?
